Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives...
We've all heard the phrases..."farm to table", "nose to tail"...this week it's "kernel to cob"! We picked up some wonderful Sweet Corn yesterday from Harker's Family Farm about 4 miles from our house. Great for eating or in our Soup of the Day...Corn Chowder. Made with a stock from the cobs, a little Bacon (got to have bacon), Potatoes and fresh Herbs and finished with just a touch of Cream.
And as always, we have our award-winning Tucker's Nantucket Clam Chowder. Clams, Cream, Butter and Bacon, what else do you need?...except maybe some Oyster Crackers.
Our Daily Special this week is a twist on the classic Croque Monsieur...grilled Ham and Artichoke Sandwich. Featuring shaved Ham from Myer's in St. Paul, In, a marinated Artichoke spread with hints of Parmesan and Swiss Cheese all grilled together on Multi Grain Bread.
And as always, we're featuring our "Bark Lard" BLT as did Food Network's "Triple D"! Thick slices of our own in-house cured Bacon, fresh Lettuce and Jeff's homemade Tomato Jam. All sandwiches are served with your choice of MB's Cole Slaw or Chips and Overnight Pickles.
And lastly and certainly not least, Mary Beth's "Life's a Beach", features Goat Cheese, Red Onion, roasted Tomatoes, Avocado and Cucumber, served on buttered and toasted Multi-Grain Bread. Or if you prefer, for a little extra, add a couple slices of "Bark Lard".
Not so much a Entree Salad this week, but a great starter and soon to be a new addition to our regular menu...Barking Dog's "Tee Pee" Salad. That iconic Tee Pee Dressing tossed with Iceberg Lettuce and topped with julienned Beets and homemade Croutons served in wooden bowls...a true classic!
Mary Beth's Salad, our featured House Salad starts with organic Field Greens topped with fresh Oranges, Apples, dried Cranberries, Red Onion, spicy sweet Pecans and a dusting of Blue Cheese. A homemade Raspberry Vinaigrette and toasted Baguette are served on the side.
